Deploying MPLS Segment Routing and Layer-2 VPNs
In a perfect world, technologies become simpler while also becoming more effective and less expensive to operate. MPLS Segment Routing and modern layer-2 VPNs are great examples of such technologies.
Dive into an action-packed scenario involving a large-sized service provider network, allowing us to interconnect sites using various implementations and techniques. In this course, Deploying MPLS Segment Routing and Layer-2 VPNs, you’ll learn how to design, operate, and maintain MPLS layer-2 VPNs of any size using IS-IS and Segment Routing for core transport. First, you’ll discover IS-IS routing and Segment Routing (SR); together, they drastically simplify MPLS transport across the core. Next, you’ll explore various MPLS layer-2 VPN technologies such as pseudowires and Ethernet VPNs (EVPN). These technologies are demonstrated in various Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) configurations such as E-LINE, E-LAN, and E-TREE. Finally, you’ll learn how to scale and optimize service provider architectures using techniques such as hierarchical VPLS (H-VPLS), Connectivity Fault Management (CFM), and VLAN tag manipulation. When you’re finished with this course, you will have the skills necessary to design and implement medium-sized SR-MPLS networks using layer-2 VPN overlays for customers.
