Running an outsourcing project presents the project manager with some unique challenges in the areas of culture and team dynamics. In this course, IT Outsourcing – Running an Outsourcing Initiative, you’ll learn the pitfalls of managing an outsourcing initiative, and will be presented with tips and tricks you can apply to avoid them. First, you’ll explore ways to create a shared sense of responsibility and how to overcome cultural challenges when working with a foreign team. Next, you’ll examine some of the problems inherent in an outsourced project. Finally, you’ll learn how to tackle the challenge of working with a distributed team, including dealing with time differences, productivity expectations, and communication issues. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to identify common issues that arise when running an outsourcing initiative, and you’ll understand how to mitigate these threats to your outsourcing project.
